Sarah Kamp Latta
A/AOGPE
Dyslexia Practitioner
Sarah has provided reading intervention services to children with dyslexia for the past seven years. She has worked in private and public school settings, as well as private practice. Prior to this, Sarah educated her three children at home and pursued specialized training to help her own child become a fluent reader. Sarah understands deeply the profound difficulty, frustration, and anxiety children can experience when learning to read is a challenge. She also seeks to affirm in children their areas of giftedness, recognizing that literacy struggles can often be an isolated area of challenge existing alongside aptitude and intelligence in many other areas.
Sarah has specialized training in dyslexia intervention with certification through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE) and the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).
Sarah provides the following services at the Language & Literacy Clinic:
- Early Literacy Screenings (ages 5 to 7)
- Dyslexia Intervention using a Structured Literacy Approach to improve all aspects of literacy including: phonemic awareness, decoding, encoding, morphology, reading fluency, reading comprehension and written expression (PreK – 8th grade)
- Parent consultations to review school and private evaluations and to provide resources and intervention recommendations
In the Central Ohio community, Sarah also provides:
- Information sessions to parent and homeschool groups
- Guidance to homeschool co-op groups on early literacy readiness and class activities to build reading readiness
