Marianne has been an Ohio licensed, ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist for more than 35 years and has specialized in serving  students with dyslexia since 2009.  She is certified through the Academy of Orton Gillingham (OGA) and provides Structured Literacy Intervention, using the Orton-Gillingham approach, as well as oral/written language therapy to students with dyslexia and language-based learning difficulties.

Marianne provides the following services at the Language & Literacy Clinic:

  • Early Literacy Screenings (ages 5 to 7)
  • Early Literacy Assessments (Grades K-1)
  • Primary Literacy Assessments (Grades 1 – 4)
  • Comprehensive Language-Literacy Evaluations (Grades 2 - 6) to assess oral and written language
  • Independent Educational Evaluations (Grades 2 – 6) to assess oral and written language
  • Structured Literacy Intervention to improve all aspects of literacy including phonemic awareness, decoding, encoding, morphology, reading fluency, reading comprehension, and written expression (PreK – 8th grade)
  • Oral and written language therapy to improve vocabulary, sentence structure, word retrieval, and language processing skills
  • Parent consultations to review case history and test results to guide specialized intervention and provide parent resources and support

In the Central Ohio community, Marianne also provides:

  • Information sessions on language, literacy, and dyslexia to parent groups.
  • Professional development sessions to educators, speech-language pathologists and related specialists.
  • Consultation and collaborative work with school IEP teams for students being served at the Language & Literacy Clinic.
  •  Clinical supervision, under the direction of a Fellow from OGA, for educators who are completing practicum hours needed for certification.
