Screening and Evaluation Services
Screening Services:
Early Literacy Screening
The Early Literacy screening consists of a thorough case history and administration of the CTOPP-2 (Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing, 2nd Edition). Phonological processing skills are essential to test to determine if a child is at-risk for dyslexia. An Early Literacy Screening is appropriate for children ages 5 to 7 years of age and takes approximately 30 – 45 minutes.
Evaluation Services:
Evaluations are individualized based on case history, specific learning challenges, and desired outcomes. Assessment tools consist of both standardized and informal measures.
Several types of evaluations are offered at the Language & Literacy Clinic:
- Early Literacy Assessment (Grades K-1)
- Primary Literacy Assessment (Grades 1 to 4)
- Comprehensive Language-Literacy Evaluation (Grades 2 – 6)
- Independent Educational Evaluation to assess oral and written language (Grades 2 – 6)
